So recently i’ve expanded my retro collection with Psychonauts and Metal Gear 3 – Subsistence on PS2, a boxed official Sega Dreamcast fishing rod and the Metal Slug Collection on the PSP? is any one else a collector of old games and what have you picked up recently or would like to get hold of?

I’m still very chuffed that I managed to get The Secret of Monkey Island on Xbox Live Arcade (even though it was a year or so ago I think?). I got the game when it originally came out in 1990 on my trusty old Atari St, however the second disc didn’t ruddy work so I didn’t actually get to play the end of the game until around 20 years later. Now I…[Read more]

You can’t beat a bit of Monkey island, the SNES was certainly my prefered 16 bit machine my mate had one and we used to play probotector on CO-OP but our footie title of choice was Sensible Soccer nothing like curling one in from the centre line!!

Yeah Probotector was a cracker if you had a mate to play it with, best Co Op game before Halo (maybe I am exagerating but who cares!). My mate had an American console as his dad worked in the US a lot and used to bring him games back. Contra was one of those games and it most defenitley made me want to go and visit his house a whole lot more (even…[Read more]

Okay so, my fondest gaming memory has to be playing ducktales on the nes – such a wicked game but sooo tough. It kept me entertained for many months until I upgraded to the MegaDrive and became addicted to playing co-op with friends on streets of rage 2. My fondest console prior to this generation has defenitely got to tbe the MegaDrive, i just…[Read more]

Lets kick things off whats your best gaming memory and what is in your opinion the best console prior to this generation:

My best memory is completing Donald Duck’s Quackshot on the Mega Drive round a friends house and the best console in my opinion is the Dreamcast its the first console I owned and purchased with my own money and it had so many…[Read more]

I still play my Dreamcast. Tons of homebrew stuff available on it now… I have megaman 1-9 on a single disc, burned from the interwebs. I have Another World on my dreamcast! And of course ALL the 2Dfighters… Consoles now are cack!

Good stuff!! The Dreamcast is by far my favourite retro console in my collection, hmmm might need to talk about obtaining a copy of Megaman and Another World from you :O)

the Dreamcast is homebrew friendly… If you are wise in the way of google search i’m sure you’ll find sites dedicated to Dreamcast emulation/homebrew stuff ;)
It was as simple as burning an image file to a disc, then ‘pooooof’ Dreamcast playing mega drive shit! Amazing
