GTA V DLC Announced – Beach Bum Pack Due November
The first big content drop for GTA V DLC has been officially announced as the “Beach Bum” pack, and will be available for free next month.
The pack will include new beach-themed vehicles, as well as some new weapons – all usable in both story mode and GTA Online. The Online mode will also receive brand new Gang Attacks, Survivals, Deathmatches and races. Not bad for free content, eh?
While there aren’t any specific lists of the new vehicles/weapons included in the news release from Rockstar, we sincerely hope the fan favourite ‘Mr Whippy’ ice-cream truck is included. Surely Ice-cream counts as ‘beach related’, right?
We do have an update on the content creator; Rockstar’s update says that they are:
“Working to bring you the debut of the first part of the GTA Online Content Creator this fall – giving players the ability to craft, publish, rate and play custom-made Deathmatch and Race Jobs.”
We also know that the best content will be given a “Rockstar Verified” stamp – so you’ll know which games are definitely worth playing. Again, this will be a free update for all players.
Finally, there’s a statement included on the promised ‘stimulus package’ – the $500,000 online dollars to compensate for the depression caused by online saving issues.
“We of course want to ensure that game progress loss issues are sufficiently sorted before distributing the GTA$ to everyone. We have a few more tweaks and fixes to make in a new title update that will hit sometime next week and then we will distribute the cash.”
Again – there’s no firm date here, and that’s a sensible move. Rockstar will only dish out the cash once they’re sure it won’t evaporate into their rickety cloud-servers no sooner than it’s sent. With a title update dropping next week, Rockstar will most likely take a further few days (at least) to monitor feedback on game issues before putting the money on the table.
It’s worth noting that heists don’t seem to be included in any of this content, though Rockstar have said that there’ll be another announcement next week on the topic, as well as the specific dates for the content we’ve discussed today.
Right, back to Los Santos, then.
