Alan Wake: Your Thoughts

Alan Wake: Your Thoughts

The results are in and have been counted. The game that I will be playing next, as voted for by TheGameJar community is Alan Wake.

It’s actually the game that I hoped would be picked. You see, I’d followed Alan Wake when it was first announced at E3 in 2005 and the tech demo video leaked out. At the time it was announced as being for “next generation consoles and PC”, but fast forward a year and we were told it was an Xbox 360 exclusive title – it was actually one of the reasons I purchased a 360 very early in it’s lifecycle after being a staunch PlayStation supporter. Unfortunately Alan Wake got delayed again and again and by the time it came for it to be released in 2010 I no longer had an Xbox and couldn’t play it.

I’ve written about it before many a time and spoken about it on the DBR podcast, but the main reason I play a game is for the story. That’s what piqued my interest in Alan Wake initially all those years ago and that is also the main reason I’m excited to play it now.

When writing anything for TheGameJar we try to take readers on a journey; the one we as the writer experienced, but now I want to be guided by you, so there is something else that I need from you faithful readers.

I want to know what you thought of Alan Wake.

What sticks out as the best and worst moments in the game? Were there bits that you really hated? Any characters that you thought were great but didn’t get enough recognition from others who played it?

If there is anything at all that you think I should keep an eye out for whilst playing just leave a comment under this piece, drop us a message on the Facebook page or send us a Tweet.

Joey D, J Dizzle, J Money, J Dawg. All names no one calls me...except me. I've come and I've gone. Now I'm back again. Ready to play all the video games and tell you what I think of them.

I brought Alan Wake about a week after release and I played it twice and I threw it in a locked draw because it was scary and I didn’t like it. Enjoy :)
