The Gaming Memories of You: Final Fantasy

The Gaming Memories of You: Final Fantasy

Sam paid homage to Squaresoft yesterday, and during that time you told us some of your reasons behind liking the Final Fantasy series. We also asked the age old question – which is your favourite in the frachise? We had a great response, and it seemed only right to include a few of our favourites in a small piece, so thank you for taking the time out to chat to us on our Facebook and Twitter!

FF7 of course.

-TudorVII

For me it has to be FFX. First time I truely got invested in the story and world. And first one I finished.

FFIX. While VII was the first I played, I adored IX’s charm and personality. Plus Chocobo Hot & Cold was awesome fun.

Close call but has to be FFVII for me, everything about it story, characters gameplay had me hooked for weeks on end!!

Even named my son after Zack from FFVII it means that much to me lol

VII. It was my first major FF experience, and one of the only ones I’ve seen to the end. VIII is also a beautiful video game

7 By far, then 9,8 12, Dirge of cerberus, Crisis core, 1,2,3,4,5,6,10, 10-2 13-13-2 and i didnt play 11

hahaha thats only the ones i liked (well excluding the 13s cos they sucked) i had a few of the Crystal Chronicles for ds and the revenant wings spin off from 12 for ds too

10. Definitely 10.

-Liam CaptainFunk Stanway

7 my fav. then 10,tactics,4,8,6,1,5
12 and 2 can kiss my bum

-Sarah Thomas

8 is the best. I just bought a new (used) psone so I could play it again as mine broke. I’d rather replace my ps1 then my ps3.

I hated 13 and forced my way through it but I enjoyed 13pt2 as I decided before i played it that it wasn’t a real final fantasy and that made it enjoyable.

10 or 6 for me!

-Ed Wilson

7 all the way. It was my first so tat may have something to do with my love for it.
Then 9 and 8 to round off my top 3.
10 was the start of the decline to the turd mess it is now IMO.

The problem I have found with FF10 to FF13-2 is the cut scenes. Firstly the voice acting is mostly irritating to me. Would I have loved FF7 so much if it had voices? I doubt it.
The cut scenes have no form of interaction and I lose interest. The older ones had large sections of story but because I was reading the text and pressing X to continue at my own pace I still felt like I was doing something….
I dont know, maybe Im just old and jaded.
On a more positive note. Anyone play Crisis Core on PSP. I loved it as it felt like an updated 7. When PSPs get a bit cheaper Ill buy one again just for that game.

Would not be able to tell you who my favorite FF character is. Despite loving FF8 I don’t really recall anyone being super well written

 I’m not to high on FF9, however, Vivi’s story……
